Favourite alpine huts in Sellrain

Over the course of time, the village of Sellrain structured itself around the healing waters of the Rothenbrunn spring. The water, which contains iron, attracted people from far and wide as far back as the Middle Ages. Nowadays, the village has a host of other attractions worth visiting, including the oldest church in the Sellraintal valley – the St. Quirin pilgrimage church. Its late Gothic wall paintings and carved wooden figures date back to between 1400 and 1500.
During the summer months, the Fotschertal valley, part of the municipality of Sellrain, is a popular area with hikers. A forest road leads through the 15 kilometre-long valley all the way to the Potsdamer Hütte mountain hut. The well-marked hiking trails take you along the edge of mountain streams, past grazing cattle and blossoming Alpine roses. The fresh, clear air, along with the stunning mountain views, make relaxing and unwinding a breeze. Alternative: Winter description
