Wieden, the 4th district of Vienna was formed from suburbs in 1850.
The original settlement dates back to the 12th century. The main
building time of the district started in the 18th century where the
Charles' Church, palaces were build. The most important street is
the Wiedner Hauptstrasse, which is the main road that is leading
out of Vienna towards south.
Today you find here the last residence of Schubert, the historic
museum, etc. The 4th district is located closely to the city centre
of Vienna and connected excellently to the transport system.
