In the southern upper Austria between Hallermauern and the Sengsen
mountains the Teichl river flows through the sunny
Windischgarstener valley. There is a marked square decorated with
convenient domestic houses, the mighty parish church St. Jakob,
rustic guest snuggeries, confectionary shops, cafes and a great
range of shopping possibilities give Windischgarsten a special
flair as well in winter and summer. The central position between
the mountains on the edge of the national park Kalkalpen invites
for a walk, hiking or just tramping through untouched nature.
During winter numerous pistes and cross-country ski-slopes await
you. Windischgarsten is a worthwhile holiday destination, no matter
if winter or summer!
