The Johannesbad Hotel St. Georg is centrally yet quietly located, directly on the Gasteiner Ache in the valley of the thermal baths, just a few minutes from the beautiful spa gardens and the valley station of the mountain railways. It is located in the middle of the fascinating alpine panorama and directly at the thermal resort of the Alpentherme. You can start your hiking and cycling tours directly from the hotel and simply leave the car at home.
Discover the original nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park with towering rocks, gently babbling brooks and wild waterfalls. The hiking network extends over 350km, from easy walks to challenging alpine trails, everything is available. If you prefer the bike, then the Gastein valley also offers the best conditions. From easy tours in the valley to sporty mountain bike routes, the cyclist's paradise of Gastein contains many attractive routes that are just waiting to be discovered
Facilities
Numerous stylish pieces of furniture that exude cozy Alpine flair characterize the traditional hotel. Furnished in an elegant country house style, you will find a cozy lobby with a reception and a bar with an open fireplace, a day café, a restaurant with excellent, toque-awarded cuisine and a rustic snuggery with a television. You can use Wi-Fi in the whole hotel for free. Ski room, lift and free parking spaces are available subject to availability.
Payable locally: garage EUR 5,- per night. Dog on request: EUR 19,- per night. Local tax EUR 2.40 per person/night from 15 years. Research institute contribution EUR 1.10 per person aged 15 and over & stay of 5 nights or more.
Rooms
The 52 rooms and suites are spacious and furnished with great attention to detail. Valuables from the alpine environment, lots of wood and coordinated fabrics in friendly colors radiate comfort. All rooms have a bath or shower/toilet, hairdryer, feel-good bag with rental bathrobe and wellness towel, telephone, cable TV, safe, WiFi and mostly a balcony or terrace.
DS (2-2): Standard double room, 22-26m², without balcony
DK (2-3): Double room comfort, 22-26m², some with balcony.
SS (2-4): Suite, approx. 45m² with separate living room and bedroom, some with balcony.
EK (1-1): Single room, 15-20m², some with balcony.
Meals
Special half-board: healthy breakfast from the buffet with organic food and fresh egg dishes, sweets in the afternoon, 4-course menu to choose from in the evening or themed evening with salad buffet.
The hotel attaches great importance to seasonal cuisine. Traditional specialties are served as well as sophisticated, light creations of modern diet cuisine using products from regional producers.
Activities
Morning gymnastics from Monday to Friday according to the notice, rental of hiking equipment and Nordic walking accessories, rental bikes subject to availability, live music and dancing several times a week at the hotel bar in the sister hotel Johannesbad Hotel Palace, activity and adventure program throughout the valley (partly with a fee) - organized from the tourist board.
For a fee: guided Nordic walking tours as posted, golf.
