Graz – Austria’s secret love
Graz tells many stories. Its history started 900 years ago in the
age of the Habsburgs. Today, the city center (old-town) is known as
one of the most beautiful in Europe and it has been included in the
UNESCO world-culture heritage program. The romantic history can be
seen in the narrow lanes, hidden courtyards and the southern flair:
classical and jazz-music, traditional and modern art, literature,
festivals such as Styiarte and the Styrian autumn. Just some of the
reasons why Graz has been declared “European Cultural Capital
2003”.
