Learn more about Linz
Linz
The third biggest city in Austria is situated in the beautiful
Danube valley, surrounded by a hilly landscape. The upper-Austrian
state capital is a lively city – during the day, business as usual
in the shopping streets, in the evening, cultural highlights and
many fashionable restaurants and bars with a cool atmosphere.
The old town captivates with idyllic lanes, historical buildings
and one of the largest medieval town centers in Central Europe.
Travel with the yellow City-Express, with the steepest mountain
railway in Europe to the Pöstlingberg, in use since 1898, or
with a Danube ship – every sightseeing tour becomes an adventure!
The art and culture scene is well-represented in Linz. Events like
the Linz culture summer, the Linz “Pflasterspektakel”, as well as
the Bruckner-festival, the Linz Klangwolke with its excellent laser
show and the ARS Electronica Festival are highlights for thousands
of visitors every year.
